The Royal Signals offers the following career opportunities in IT and Communications:
Communication Systems Engineer

The Communication Systems Engineer is the technical expert in the challenging and rewarding environment of Army communication technology. You will be responsible for the engineering, management and maintenance of a wide range of information and communication systems at the leading edge of military communications. The Communication Systems Engineer will deal with different forms of digital and satellite communications, wireless and internet based systems, while also working hand in hand with hardware and software from industry leaders such as Microsoft and Cisco.
Communication Systems Operator

As a Communication Systems Operator you are the linchpin of battle field communications. It is your job to ensure that the formation level Commander, officers and soldiers are provided with a reliable range of sophisticated tactical, area, digital, satellite and mobile communications.
Driver Lineman Storeman

As a Driver Lineman Storeman you will be trained in the movement of hazardous materials, to construct field cable routes and lay fibre optic cabling to support the Army's IT and communication systems. You will also be taught to drive, maintain and service a wide variety of vehicles. You will provide the logistic backbone to Royal Signals units, responsible for computerised stock control and accounting systems for technical stores
Electronic Warfare Systems Operator

As an Electronic Warfare Systems Operator you will use sophisticated equipment to eavesdrop on enemy communications and use various counter measures to disrupt them. You will also be able to work as an Electronic Counter Measures Operator in support of bomb disposal teams. - Regular Army only
Installation Technician

As an Installation Technician you will be working at the forefront of military communications technology and become an expert in the installation, maintenance and repair of telephone systems and fibre optic networks. Later in your career you will take on installation project management responsibilities.
Royal Signals Electrician

As a Royal Signals Electrician you are literally the power behind the Army's communication systems. You will install, maintain and repair vital AC and DC generators along with field distribution power supplies and lighting. You will also be responsible for the mechanical and electrical repair of various generator systems.
