Foundation Degree - deadline for sign-up on Friday:

The Army’s part-time Foundation Degree in Business and Management officially launches this Autumn, following a successful pilot programme. Interested soldiers need to sign up for the course by FRIDAY 15 OCTOBER.

This new Higher Education qualification is equivalent to the first two years of an honours degree, and is delivered over three years via distance learning, in conjunction with Leeds Metropolitan University and Bournemouth University.

The Foundation Degree is open to all who may wish to join (military and civilian). Army students therefore benefit from interacting and working with civilian students from a wide range of public and private employment sectors, both UK and overseas.

This degree is ideal for soldiers looking to study a wide range of business subjects including topics such as marketing, human resources, management and finance. On completion, graduates will be in a strong position to progress their professional careers in the work environment, or to continue academic study to achieve a full Honours degree in a business and management related subject.

Soldiers with EFP2, SNCO CLM and WO CLM will be exempt from some of the study modules.

The Foundation Degree costs £1,250, but those eligible to use Enhanced Learning Credits can offset 80% of the cost - reducing it to only £250 per year.

For further information on the Foundation Degree contact your local AEC. Information can also be found at www.ebam.ac.uk
