The Band of the Parachute Regiment

The Parachute Regiment BandThe Band of the Parachute Regiment consists of thirty five musicians. It's primary role is to provide musical support to the Army, but particularly The Parachute Regiment. This can take the form of official parades, marching displays and concerts or smaller groups for dinners, cocktail parties and receptions.

The need to diversify has been driven by defence cuts. Prior to 1994, seventy Army Bands existed, The Parachute Regiment had two bands, each consisting of thirty five musicians. Today, the Army has thirty bands and The Parachute Regiment one.

The Parachute Regiment is proud of it's musical traditions. Understandably saddened by the loss of one of it's bands, the new Band of The Parachute Regiment has risen from the ashes and is now capable of providing a level of musical support unimagined in 1994.
Boasting numerous different ensembles, quality and quantity, on this occasion, go hand in hand.
