As an Army musician your working day will be filled with what you do best - music. That means a programme of daily rehearsal, practice, and performance.
Engagements can range from performing at a civic dinner to an overseas tour.
'Work hard, play hard' is a well-established motto in the British Army; you will find that most Army locations boast superb sporting, social and leisure facilities.
Despite what you may have heard, you will not find yourself being shouted at all day long - for the most part army discipline is about personal discipline or in other words, common sense.
In essence, the army is a young people's organisation with a flexible career structure. Army musicians join on an open engagement with the possibility of a career spanning 35 years.
We require one year's notice after you have served for 2 years (so your minimum engagement is for 4 years). Further details on engagements and pay are available from your Army Careers Information Office.
