Blandford Camp

The Corps Colours

During your Phase Two training you will stay in Blandford Camp, situated in Dorset between Salisbury and Bournemouth.

Camp Facilities

Blandford Camp has a wide range of social meeting places and facilities to offer. They include: A modern cinema showing all the latest movie releases. It is open 5 nights a week and is located in the camp centre.

A ten pin bowling alley, bar and catering facilities located next to the cinema in the camp centre. The Semaphore Arms, which houses bar and restaurant facilities, as well as being used by the NAAFI for various entertainment nights. These facilities are within easy walking distance of the soldiers' accommodation.

A shopping arcade in the camp centre houses the Rendezvous Cafe, a sports shop and an electrical goods store. Also in the camp centre is Humph Bahadur's Restaurant which serves Nepalese, Chinese and Indian food in the evening for all camp personnel.

Accommodation

New accommodation at Blandford CampAs a result of the increase in the number of soldiers within Blandford camp it has been necessary to build new accommodation blocks. These blocks are modern and based around 4 persons sharing a large room with partitioned bed spaces.

Within these blocks you will have access to toilet and shower facilities adjacent to your room and a small kitchen equipped with a microwave. All laundry facilities are located centrally in the camp laundry, which is open 6 days a week and is located in the camp centre.

Welfare Services

If at any time during your stay at Blandford Camp you have problem which you would rather not discuss with members of the troop cadre, there are a number of people you can turn to for advice on a wide range of matters. If they do not know the answer they will certainly be able to point you in the right direction. These agencies are generally sympathetic towards people who have genuine problems and will endeavour to help you. They include:
