66 (City of Belfast) Support Squadron

The Corps Colours

Welcome to Support Squadron. These web pages aim to provide information on our activities and role by providing useful information and acting as a resource for potential recruits.

We are a Territorial Army Signals Unit located in Belfast. Our role is to provide support to the operational field squadrons of 40 (Ulster) Signal Regiment (V). The Regiments role is to provide communications support to both emergency services and government during civil contingency or natural disaster. We do not have any security role in Northern Ireland.

The Squadron acquired the 66 (City of Belfast) name in 2006 after 66 and 69 Squadrons amalgamated to become 69 Squadron. The Squadron is subdivided into troops or departments depending on the soldiers specialist trade. These departments include Quarter Master's Department, second line technical workshops and motor transport to name a few. The range of trades is so diverse that the Squadron is known as the 'Adams Family' with all shapes and sizes.

The Squadron is commanded by the Officer Commanding, a Major who is supported by the Squadron Sergeant Major.
