History
39th (Skinners) Signal Regiment (Volunteers) was formed on 1 April 1995 as a result of the re-organisation of the TA, from 39th (City of London) Signal Regiment (Special Communications) as well as elements of 31 or 71 Signal Regiments. Concurrent with the re-organisation, the Regiment moved from London To Bristol. The Special Communications role was retained by 1 (Royal Buckinghamshire Yeomanry) Signal Squadron, which although independent is still affiliated to the Regiment. The adoption of the title 'Skinners' into the Regimental title further reinforces the current affiliation with the Worshipful Company of Skinners.(more) | |
