19 Light Brigade Headquarters
and Signal Squadron (209)

19 Light Brigade is made up of the following units from all over the UK:

• 209 Signal Squadron provide the communications for 19 Light Brigade. This is an independent squadron providing all communications, command support and communications information systems for the Brigade HQ.
• The Queen's Royal Lancers is the Armoured Regiment within 19 Light Brigade. They are equipped with Challenger 2 tanks and CVR(T), giving the Brigade firepower, mobility and protection.
• 1 Kings Regiment supply the Armoured Infantry for 19 Light Brigade. They are equipped with Warrior, providing the infantry with outstanding tactical mobility, very high levels of protection and significant fire power.
• 1 Queens Lancashire Regiment, 1 Devon and Dorsets, 1 PWO and 1 Royal Green Jackets supply the Infantry for 19 Light Brigade. They are equipped with Saxon. This allows them to hold the ground in conventional operations to allow the armour and armoured infantry to manoeuvre. The RGJ are a light battalion trained to fight in a wide range of theatres.
• 40 Regiment Royal Artillery is the affiliated gunner regiment for 19 Light Brigade. They are equipped with AS90. They provide a 24 hour all weather observation capability and uses the world's most advanced field artillery system.
• 38 Engineer Regiment is the affiliated engineer regiment for 19 Light Brigade. They are equipped with Chieftain engineering vehicles. This allows them to enhance mobility, counter mobility and survivability on the battlefield.
• 43 Air Defence Battery Royal Artillery is the affiliated air defence battery for 19 Light Brigade. They are equipped with Stormer and this provides the Brigade with a high velocity missile system which can be shoulder or vehicle launched.
• 19 Brigade Provost Company, part of 150 Provost Company is the affiliated Provost unit for 19 Light Brigade. They control the movement of formations and units. They also provide all policing requirements of the Brigade.
• 15 Close Support Company is the affiliated REME close support for 19 Light Brigade. It provides equipment support.
• 3 (24) Close Support Medical Squadron is the affiliated medical unit for 19 Light Brigade. It is responsible for casualty evacuation to dressing stations where medical treatment and surgery is performed.
• 32 Brigade Support Squadron is the affiliated brigade support squadron for 19 Light Brigade. It provides the logistical link between the battle groups and the brigade.
