591 INDEPENDENT FIELD SQUADRON (V)

591 Independent Field Squadron is the only Royal Engineer TA Unit in Northern Ireland. The Squadron is established in its new home in Balloo Industrial Estate, Bangor, County Down.

The Squadron is a Light Role, Close Support, Combat Engineer Squadron. Its likely tasks include Mobility, Counter - Mobility and Survivability, helping the Army live, move and fight.

Pay and Expenses

When you are a member of the TA you can expect to recieve the pay and bonuses listed below:

  • Comparable rates of pay to Regular Army/ part time RIR- mark time pay.
  • Graduated bounty Training nights, paid at one quarter of a days pay, per night attended.
  • Travel expenses, may be paid to/from TA centre or other place of duty.
