Bricklayer ME BRICKLAYER - The Bricklayer and Concretor is trained to work with all types of brick and blockwork and structural concrete. You may also be called upon to build scaffolding, fix roofing tiles, render walls and lay paving blocks.
 
   
Finisher ME BUILDING & STRUCTURAL FINISHER - The Building and Structural Finisher is a Spray Painter, Sign Maker, Glazier, Roofer, Tiler, Plasterer, Dry Liner, Floor Finisher and Painter. Tasks include preparation of surfaces to enable paints and other treatment to be applied for preservation, hygiene, decoration, identification and camouflage.
 
   
Carpenter ME CARPENTER & JOINER - A Carpenter and Joiner manufactures, modifies or repairs parts of buildings that require the use of timber products, using woodworking machinery and hand tools. They manufacture timber formwork, strengthen damaged buildings by the erection of shores and are trained to read drawings.
 
   
Communications ME C3 SYSTEMS - The Engineer Command, Communications and Information Systems Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining essential radio communications out in the field. You will learn to operate a range of high-tech radios and other communications equipment.
 
   
Materials ME DESIGN - MATERIALS TECHNICIAN - The Construction Materials Technician is required to provide critical design information on materials in use during construction tasks. Responsibilities are concerned with investigation and testing of materials such as soils, rocks, aggregates, cement, concrete, bitumen and tar.
 
   
Design Dtmn ME DESIGN - DESIGN DRAUGHTSMAN - Draughtsman design and draw buildings and engineering structures. They produce detailed drawings for roads, bridges and runways as well as assisting in both the design of new builds and the restoration of essential service facilities.
 
   
Dtmn EM ME DESIGN - DRAUGHTSMAN (E&M) - The Draughtsman Electrical and Mechanical is trained to design a wide range of systems including heating, water, electrical power and lighting. Working closely with other technicians and engineers you will then produce accurate drawings for all these systems.
 
   
Surveyor ME DESIGN - SURVEYOR ENGINEER - The Surveyor Engineer is a competent land and hydrographic surveyor, able to produce accurate contoured survey plans of land and inshore waters, as a basis for the design of roads and other structures. During the construction phase of a project they are responsible for setting out and the accuracy of line and level to meet the design criteria.
 
       
Driver ME DRIVER - As a Driver you will learn to drive and handle a variety of vehicles on and off road, in all conditions, day and night. You can specialise in different vehicles such as motorbikes, cranes, tank bridge transporters, self loading dump trucks or automotive bridge launching equipment.
 
   
Electrician ME ELECTRICIAN - An Electrician is concerned with electrical installation work and the generation and distribution of power. The training covers workshop skills, electrical technology, electrical regulations, and the principles of power generation, distribution and utilisation. Also covered is the installation and maintenance of general wiring systems.
 
   
Fitter ME FITTER GENERAL - General Fitters have a working knowledge of petrol and diesel engines, generators, pumps and vehicle/plant transmission systems. The job consists of servicing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment.
 
   
Fabricator ME FABRICATOR (WELDER) - An Engineer Fabricator is capable of shaping metal by basic forging, bending and jointing using a variety of systems. You will be taught to fabricate and/or repair both low and medium carbon steel components, basic welding, metal cutting, filing, grinding, drilling and threading.
 
   
Fitter ACR ME FITTER (AIR CONDITIONING) - A Fitter (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) installs, operates and maintains a variety of industrial, commercial and domestic refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
 
       
Data ME GEOGRAPHIC TECHNICIAN - DATA TECHNICIAN - Using specialist equipment the Geographic Technician can take measurements in the field using surveying techniques, or by using satellite imagery and arial photography. You will then produce and manage the geographic data that is used by other specialists and on modern battlefield systems.
 
   
Production ME GEOGRAPHIC TECHNICAN - PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN - The Geographic Production Technician is responsible for the design and production of military maps and other geographic projects. Using design skills, geographic data and imagery knowledge, you will be taught to design and produce a variety of essential military products.
 
   
Terrain ME GEOGRAPHIC TECHNICIAN - TERRAIN ANALYST - As a Geographic Terrain Analyst you will analyse mapping, digital data, satellite imagery, arial photography and intelligence data to provide accurate terrain information for military operations using Geographic InformationSystems (GIS).
 
   
Plumber ME HEATING & PLUMBING - The Heating and Plumbing Engineer assembles, installs, maintains and repairs hot and cold water supply systems, natural and liquid petroleum gas supply systems, sanitation, drainage and waste disposal systems, central heating systems and roof drainage.
 
   
Plant PLANT OPERATOR MAINTANER - As a Plant Operator Maintainer you will be trained in the operation and maintenance of earthmoving and construction plant. You will service and make minor repairs to equipment in your charge. You will also be trained in equipment documentation and basic surveying and setting out of earthworks.
 
   
Resourses Specialist ME RESOURCES SPECIALIST - The Resources Specialist is responsible for obtaining, controlling, maintaining and issuing the vast range of stores and equipment the Royal Engineers require to carry out its combat and construction missions world-wide. The Royal Engineers are renowned for their successful operational and development projects overseas. However, only with the expertise of Resources Specialists can this success continue – they are key to everything the Royal Engineers do!
