An Introduction by the Commandant
Royal School of Artillery
The Royal School of Artillery (RSA) is part of the Artillery Centre and is an international centre of excellence for artillery training. It is situated in the centre of the British Army's largest national training area and offers unique access to live firing and manoeuvre facilities. The Staff of the School is made up of highly qualified instructors from the Royal Artillery, other Arms and Corps of the British Army and a number of overseas artillery instructors, for example Australian, Canadian and American. In addition to artillery training, the RSA train all Armoured Fighting Vehicle and Aircraft Recognition Instructors for the British Army.
This international ethos is further enhanced by an increasing attendance of overseas students on a wide range of our courses. In the last two years, we have also conducted a number of training assistance schemes overseas to consolidate this training. This is very much a growth area and brings significant benefit to us as an international centre and to those students from overseas at a time when operations are increasingly conducted by international alliances and coalitions.
I hope that you will find this site helpful.
