Viking Welfare
Hello one & all.
Having been appointed the Unit Welfare Officer, I feel it’s only right for me to put pen to paper and introduce myself.
Having spent 22 years in the Battalion of which 16 years have been married to my wife Teresa, I can safely say I already know the majority of you. That said there is still a number of you I have yet to meet and I intend to do this before the forthcoming tour so that you also get to know your Welfare Officer.
The forthcoming tour is the next major period of separation and as a consequence my staff and I are already planning for this. The Commanding Officer, Stuart Carver has indicated his intent by boosting my staff and by doing this has shown that Families are as important as the soldiers serving on a operational tour. There will be central family forum briefing on 7th Feb 07, aiming to make sure all of you are well informed about the tour and what will be in place to make a difficult period that little bit easier.
My staff and I intend to make the families’ of our soldiers the main effort leading up to, during and after the tour, providing you all with up to date and accurate information.
Finally, I look forward to supporting both you and your husband, wife/partner during the tour and if you have any questions or queries please speak to the welfare office, who will endeavour to help out as much as we possibly can.
Kind Regards
Tony Buff
