150 (Yorkshire) Transport Regiment (Volunteers)

Equipment on operations

We are a modern, highly flexible Transport Regiment, based in Yorkshire, providing lift capability in support of the Regular Army wherever and whenever it is needed. We also operate fuel tankers and mobile communications vehicles from our depots in Doncaster, Hull and Leeds.

The Regiment if formed of four Squadrons, spread over the county (see location map) and a Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers workshop to keep the vehicle fleet mechanically sound and fit for use.

We also have a Band and Corps of Drums which is able to provide almost any style of music for all functions, formal and informal, civilian or military.

Unit training takes place within our Barracks, at locations across the UK and Germany and we have sent volunteers on Operations to Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.

We train to keep ourselves fit to perform our role and this can be physically demanding. But there are plenty of opportunities to let off steam either on Adventurous Training or in competitive sport.
