"Daily rates of pay are the same for TA personnel and their Regular Army equivalents" |
As a member of the Rifle Volunteers you will be paid for every hour of training you attend, so the more time you put in the more you'll receive. You will also receive an annual bonus, known as a bounty, but only if you fulfil your minimum time commitment. Click here to see the minimum commitment. You may also be refunded travel costs incurred by travelling to your TA centre for training. |
|
Daily rates of pay are the same for TA personnel and their Regular Army equivalents. These range from £29.98 as a newly recruited Private to £110.40 for a Major.
Hourly income is taxable, but the Annual Bounty is a tax-free lump sum. The value of the bounty depends the length of time you serve with the Rifle Volunteers. Soldiers and officers start by receiving £371 in their first year. After five years satisfactory service, this rises to £1462. |
