The Joint CBRN Reconnaissance Regiment formed from 1st Royal Tank Regiment (1 RTR) and elements of the RAF Regiment are specialists in countering Chemical, Biological, Radiological & Nuclear (CBRN) threats on today's battlefields. However the CBRN troops of 1 RTR are also fully trained Challenger 2 crewmen and switch between the 2 roles on a regular basis. Truly the multi-skilled and multi-roled soldiers of the 21 Century.

You will be trained in all the tank skills of a Challenger 2 crewman but in addition will also learn the art of CBRN detection and decontamination as well as being trained to work in all terrain and environments. You will be part of a 4-8 man team and you could well be part of an early deployment force that takes you to any part of the globe.
