A Commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of VJ Day
Bletchley Park Sunday 21st August 2005
To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Victory in Japan we would be honoured to have the company of World War II Veterans at Bletchley Park on Sunday 21st August in order for us to pay grateful tribute to their bravery and to remember, with pride, those colleagues of theirs who are no longer with us.
We will be conducting a Drumhead Memorial Service at midday, following which we invite World War II Veterans to take a salute from our Air Training Cadets.
As Living Memory fades, it is imperative that the next generation are aware of the unquantifiable contribution to their own lives, made by the sacrifices of so many. Therefore we will be inviting schoolchildren and students to come along and hear, first-hand, the Veterans’ wartime experiences, so that the War is brought alive for them.
If you know of any WW2 Veterans who would like to attend, please contact Bletchley Park Reception on 01908 640404.
Admission Prices;-
WW2 Veterans and children under 8 FREE
Adults £10.00
Children and Concessions £8.00
