The Story of the 57th (East Surrey) Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery (TA)
Part One: Conversion and Confrontation, 1938 - 1940
The regiment originally existed as the 5th battalion, The East Surrey Regiment, an old territorial infantry battalion that recruited in Surrey and South West London.  After a brief account of its lineage and a chapter on the inter-war years, the book tells the story of the regiment following its conversion to the anti-tank role.  On the outbreak of war the regiment embodied at Epsom Racecourse and trained in Somerset before joining the BEF.  It fought in Belgium and France before returning home via Dunkirk.

Five Years on Full Alert
Five Years on Full Alert  is a unique record of some of the inner feelings and perseverance of Ulster Anti-Aircraft Gunners in the Second World War.  Inside are the memoirs of three men who volunteered for the Royal Artillery in 1939 and also the recollections of the women who played such a vital part with them, in what were known as mixed batteries.
