rugby

The 1st Battalion  plays both Rugby Union and Rugby League but is recognised as the premier exponent of the latter in the Army. A large portion of the Infantry Rugby League Team is always drawn from the Queen's Lancashire Regiment and the unit team is regarded as one of the best in the Army.

swim

Swimming forms part of the annual inter Company competitions. Other water sports include water polo.

white water

White water rafting is always popular during adventure training. This picture shows members of B Company in Canada, when the Battalion was deployed on exercise Iron Hawk. This was just one of many activities emjoyed by members of the Battalion while on two weeks adventure training in the Rocky Mountains.

sking

The Alpine Ski Team pause for a photograph whilst competing in the Infantry Championships, in Val'D'Isere, France. The team then went on to compete in the Divisional and Army competitions. In total the team spent TEN weeks on snow.

parParachuting is a popular sport, many of our soldiers have been on free fall courses in the UK and Canada.
Boxing forms part of or annual inter-company competitions and the Battalion has same good quality boxers. Not only have they fought other regiments but regularly fight against clubs in Lancashire and universities, our most recent being Oxfordbn boxing.

The Battalion has an A and B team and as you can imagine, football is a popular sport. All the best teams come from Lancashire and ours are no exception.
