THE COLONEL-IN-CHIEF
Her Majesty The Queen, Duke of Lancaster, is Colonel-in-Chief and is supreme in all matters relating to the Regiment.
Her Majesty has been Colonel-in-Chief of The Queen's Lancashire Regiment since its formation and before that held the same appointment in The Loyal Regiment from 1st June 1953, the day before the Coronation.
The Queen’s Lancashire Regiment is the only English line regiment with the honour to have the Monarch as Colonel-in-Chief. |

THE COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT
The Colonel of The Regiment stands in the position of a father to all ranks of all battalions of the Regiment, and it is his pleasure to devote his utmost energies to the enhancement of their welfare and the good of the Regiment. His main responsibilities are to promote Regimental spirit, to maintain Regimental traditions and to represent Regimental interests.
The Colonel of The Regiment will be a senior officer, serving or retired, who may or may not have served in the Regiment.

THE REGIMENTAL HEADQUARTERS
The Regimental Headquarters are located at Fulwood Barracks, Preston, home to the Regiment since 1873.
The Regimental Secretary is the principal staff officer to the Colonel of The Regiment and is responsible for coordinating the work of Regimental Headquarters.

The Headquarters assists the Colonel of The Regiment and acts as the focal point within the Regimental area for the management and coordination of Regimental affairs. It is responsible for safeguarding the interests of the Regiment, representing the views of the Colonel to higher formations and the Ministry of Defence, and liaising with County, civic and ecclesiastical authorities in Lancashire, in particular those boroughs of which the Regiment enjoys the Freedom. |

THE COMMANDING OFFICERS
The officer in command of a Battalion has the title of Commanding Officer and will be of Lieutenant Colonel’s rank. The authority of the Commanding Officer is paramount within the Battalion.
Commanding Officers are ex officio members of the Regimental Council and are responsible to it for Regimental chattels held by their Battalions.

THE ADJUTANTS
The Adjutant of the Battalion will normally be of captain's rank and his tour of duty for two years. The appointment of an officer as Adjutant is made as the personal choice of the Commanding Officer and is a mark of distinguished conduct and ability.
The Adjutant is responsible within the Battalion for executing the Commanding Officer's policy and orders.
The Adjutant is directly responsible for the standard of dress, turnout and discipline of all Battalion officers below field rank. |

THE REGIMENTAL REPRESENTATIVES
Regimental Representatives are appointed as the focus of Regimental activities at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, and at The Infantry Training Centre Catterick.
It is their responsibility to promote and foster Regimental spirit, to inculcate a basic knowledge of Regimental history, customs and traditions, and to ensure that all regimental staff set the highest standards for young men to emulate. They organise Regimental social occasions and, when appropriate, arrange for the observation of Regimental Days. |
