| The Regiment is very much the County Regiment for Lancashire. Young Lancastrians have served with the Regiment and its predecessors for over 200 years, since the first connection with the county was established in 1782.
Today, the Regiment is particularly proud that over 97% of the soldiers serving with the 1st Battalion (Regular Army) still come from the Regimental recruiting area within the historic County Palatine of Lancaster and the Isle of Man. As a result The Queen's Lancashire Regiment is widely noted for its very strong sense of identity and fierce local pride.
