The Regimental Museum is co-located with the Regimental Headquarters within the historic Fulwood Barracks, Preston, and houses one of the largest and most important Infantry Regimental collections in the country.
The Collection
The extensive displays, archive and military history library illustrate the fascinating story of the Regiment from its foundation in 1689 to the achievements of the 'Lancashire Lads' of today. Their scope is the history, achievements and people of three of Lancashire's historic County Regiments, their predecessors and successors:
The East Lancashire Regiment - 30th and 59th Foot
The South Lancashire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Volunteers) - 40th and 82nd Foot
The Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire) - 47th and 81st Foot
The Lancashire Regiment (Prince of Wales'sVolunteers)
The Queen's Lancashire Regiment
as well as associated Militia, Rifle Volunteers, Territorials, Home Guard and Cadets. In all no less than 120 separate units are recorded, including the 59 battalions formed by the predecessor regiments during the First World War

Opening Times
The Museum is open throughout the year (except for two weeks over Christmas and New Year) from 10.00am to 4.00pm, Tuesday to Thursday, or by appointment.

The Friends is an active organisation helping the Museum to preserve and promote the most important regimental heritage collection in the North West of England, and one of the most important in the country.
The Friends have a busy calendar including study days, evening events and annual Battlefield Tours.
