"Making the best better"

QACOLOURS

WELCOME to the British 'Army Nursing' Website

Army NursesArmy Nurses work in busy, modern hospitals giving the best possible care to both military and civilian patients in a real team atmosphere. We have personnel in Cyprus, Germany, the Falkland Islands and Canada, as well as in the UK. Some of our nurses have the opportunity to work further afield, such as in New Zealand, Australia, Kenya, South Africa, Brunei, Sierra Leone and Belieze. We have recently supported military operations in Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and Iraq as well as continuing our presence in Bosnia.
Individual SupportIndividual support and professional development are high priority, and our nurses have no difficulty meeting their PREP requirements, with a wide range of fully funded study days available. You are actively encouraged to gain a second qualification through a specialist course such as ITU, A&E, Theatres (again fully funded and with no drop in your grade), or you might like to further your academic qualifications and study for a degree or even a Masters qualification.

High Quality Nursing CareYou may think that Army nursing is all about getting cold, wet and muddy, in arduous conditions, for which you need superhuman strength. You will be pleasantly surprised! It's actually all about high quality nursing care, and you can't deliver that for long if you are wet, cold and muddy. The circumstances may sometimes be challenging, but we are well equipped, resourceful and highly trained so we know how to look after ourselves as well as our patients.

Development OpportunitiesClick on the links on the left and you can find out more about our role, salaries, professional development opportunities and training.

Explore more about the Bursary (sponsorship) programme for student nurses(already in university or just about to commece a degree or diploma at a civilian university) and the 'GOLDEN HELLO' for ITU,A&E and Theatre Nurses.

You can also read first hand accounts from some of our nurses on their lifestyle and careers as Army nurses.
