THE AIRBORNE BROTHERHOOD

Over 100,00 men served in Airborne Forces (including the SAS) during World War Two and many thousands more belonged to Airborne Forces - Regular and Territorial since 1945. Although many who served in Airborne Forces belonged to various Regiments and Corps, to which individually they, rightly, owe their first loyalty, it was and still is the Airborne "spirit" which welded all into a happy "band of brothers"; and it is this service in Airborne Forces that all of us remember as being one of the important periods in our lives.

The Airborne Brotherhood reflects this "spirit". The idea of The Brotherhood is two-fold:

1. To maintain the strong esprit de corps of all who have served in Airborne Forces;

2. To raise funds for the Airborne Forces Security Fund which since 1942, has spent over £3,000,000 in helping the less fortunate of our Airborne Brethren and their dependants.

All who have served in Airborne Forces- Regular and Territorial - are eligable to purchase and wear The Brotherhood Badge. It is NOT another Association - there are no rules, no formal meetings. The cost is £5.00 about half of which will go to the Airborne Forces Security Fund. In return, Brethren will receive a mini lapel badge (14mm x 11mm) depicting a blue Pegasus against a maroon background which all airborne men will be proud to wear.
