Marching band

RA Band public duties Buckingham Palace

The Royal Artillery Band marching away from Buckingham Palace after Public Duties, the mounting of the Queens Guard.

Without a doubt the marching band is the most recognisable face of military music.  This very image of military music is matched by the ability of the bands within the Corps of Army Music to perform on the march.  Millions of people will have seen either in person or on TV such events as:

  • Trooping The Colour
  • Buckingham Palace Guard Mounts
  • Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo

The rousing music of such famous composers as Sousa and Alfred are a common sound on parades around the world.

Princeof Wales's Division Band in the FalklandsTroops will tell you that no parade is complete without the support of a military band and the professional bands of the Corps of Army Music are the very best.

The bands support events such as:

  • Beating Retreats
  • Medal parades
  • Freedom and homecoming parades
  • Pass out parades for training
  • Public Duties in London
  • Tattoos around the world
  • Carnivals
  • Remembrance parades
  • Sports events
