The Corps of Army Music Trust

The CAMUS Trust serves to promote and develop esprit de corps for Army Musicians through:

  • Concern for the well being of all members of the Corps, serving and retired, and their dependants
  • Fostering welfare and benevolence
  • Encouraging personal career development, pride in our heritage, sport and adventurous training

Trust activities are funded through the Day's Pay Scheme to which serving CAMUS personnel contribute, the raising of funds by bands through charity concerts or sponsored events, and from personal donations. The Corps Secretary is charged with keeping in touch with bands, ex-servicemen's organisations in order to ensure that assistance reaches people and areas in need.

The Army Musicians Association

The Corps family has been developing gradually since the formation of CAMUS on 1 September 1994.  Through the Army Musicians Association (AMA), we are endeavouring to embrace all of those who have served as musicians in the Army even before the formation of CAMUS.

The AMA facilitates reunions and assists the CAMUS Trust in providing relief for those who fall on hard times or are otherwise in need after they have left the Army.  The connection remains for life and can be as strong or as weak as individuals wish it to be.  The AMA is for all members and retired members of CAMUS as well as anyone who has served in any Regular Army or Territorial Army Band.

The Corps Journal

Fanfare Magazine provides a focus for all members of the Corps and all who are interested in Army Music. It is published in June and December each year and covers the activities of Regular and Territorial Army Bands, the Royal Military School of Music, the AMA, the Museum, sport and adventurous training.  Serving officers and soldiers receive copies as part of their membership of the CAMUS Trust.  Members of the Kneller Hall Club, the AMA, the TA and the public are invited to subscribe to this excellent publication to keep in touch with Corps activities.  Equally, they are invited to contribute articles.
