Musician James Johnson and Corporal Fee Shakespeare

Thinking about joining a military band?

The Band of the Prince of Wales's Division is based in Tidworth, between Salisbury (Wiltshire) and Andover (Hampshire).

Whilst it is an attractive proposition for budding musicians in this area, we welcome musicians from all over the country.

For those considering a career in Army music and you would like a 'taster' of what it can be like in a military band then we can offer you a weeks work experience programme whereby you can stay with us (in barracks) and work with us.

During your week with us you could expect to take part in some of the following:  Full concert band rehearsals that we may have for any upcoming engagements, small ensemble practice, marching band, music theory classes and much more.  You could even find yourself playing with us in a public performance.

Benefits of joining

  • A good salary
  • A wide variety of musical styles
  • World wide travel
  • Flexible working hours
  • Play in civilian ensembles in your spare time
  • Fantastic opportunity to expand your skills
  • Financial assistance for further education
  • Superb tuition for both musical and non musical qualifications
  • Close to Andover and Salisbury

For further information please follow the links or contact the Bandmaster to discuss the options or book a place on a course or another within the Corps of Army Music.
