About the Band
The Band of the Irish Guards reflects and celebrates the regiment's distinguished history and traditions. Regularly performing duties for state and ceremonial occasions on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace and at Windsor Castle, it also plays a crucial role when marking key national events such as Trooping the Colour and the Festival of Remembrance.
Throughout its history, the Band has regularly represented Great Britain abroad by performing extensively at prestigious international events. In 2010, the Band embarked on a highly successful coast-to-coast tour of the USA, performing in 57 cities.
Frequently playing at prestigious venues such as The Royal Albert Hall and St Paul's Cathedral, alongside world-class singers Hayley Westenra and Katherine Jenkins, its musicians are always in great demand.
World renowned for both its marching and concert band capability, the concert band can showcase a comprehensive repertoire of music from traditional military band favourites to contemporary symphonic compositions.
