The Band has had a busy Summer after welcoming a new Bandmaster -Warrant Officer Class 1 Matt Speight who has settled into life within the Band very quickly, although he is due to be deployed to Afghanistan shortly as an individual augmentee we now have our old Bandmaster Warrant Officer Class 1 Craig Philbin filling the position until WO1 Speight returns. All the best to WO1 Speight from the Band and we look forward to seeing him when he returns!
The Band spent two months supporting British Forces in Germany and performing several times to the public including a Military Tatoo at Borussia Football Stadium at Monchengladbach alongside bands from the UAE, Germany and Poland to name a few.
Shortly before performing at the Shrewsbury Flower Show the Band released a new CD entitled 'By Popular Demand', including several solotracks, Big Band numbers, tracks from our Pop Group Funky Monkeys and Soul Group Re-Souled. The Band then took a well earned Summer Leave which has resulted in a number of engagements being announced within the Band.

More recently the Band has welcomed a new Director of Music Captain Mike Smith, replacing Major Neil Morgan who has taken up position as the Director of Music of the Band of the Royal Artillery Regiment. Details of both Captain Smith and WO1 Speight can be found on our personnel spotlight page.
