The Orchestra
The Royal Artillery Orchestra in performance with Hayley Westernra at Salisbury Cathedral.
The Royal Artillery Orchestra is the oldest established orchestra in the Britain, steeped in almost two hundred and fifty years of history. For the past hundred years the orchestra has performed a series of concerts held regularly in London with the first concerts held at the Royal Albert Hall.
Today concerts are still held in Woolwich every two months throughout the year. The Royal Artillery Band is the only band within the Corps of Army Music able to provide a concert orchestra. In its long and proud history the orchestra has worked with many famous musicians including Sir Harry Secombe OBE, Nigel Kennedy and more recently Hayley Westenra in a showcase concert at Salisbury Cathedral.
The Orchestra continues to support the Royal Regiment of Artillery and regularly performs at Investitures in Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
