Band News

The highlight of 2009 was a 5 week tour supporting British forces in Canada. The tour took the Band to the Province of Alberta, which stretches from the Rocky Mountains east to the prairies.
During the tour, the Band was able to squeeze in some adventure training with taking on the Kananaskis and Bow rivers, before settling down and performing at numerous engagements such as concerts in branches of the Royal Canadian Legion, a rooftop Dance Band concert, and numerous marching band performances.
The Band also had the honour earlier in the year of providing musical support to Her Majesty the Queen during 'Royal Week' in Edinburgh. The Band marched on parade for the changing of the guard ceremony at Edinburgh Castle, as well as performing at the Duke of Edinburgh awards, and other garden parties at Holyroodhouse Palace.
The Band has a varied diary supporting both military events and civilian events across Europe and sometimes further afield. There are already many events at which the public are invited to come along and see the band perform. For more details see our diary page.
We are actively recruiting and run several 'Insight Courses' to show potential recruits what being in a military band is all about. Come and visit us on a pre-arranged visit and see what we do or in fact what being a musician in Army is like.
