About the Band
The band on public duties, Guard Mount at Buckingham Palace. This is a major tourist attraction in central London with thousands of visitors from all over the world viewing this fantastic event every day.
The Band is one of only two mounted bands remaining in the British Army. It's history and traditions date back many years.
The Band can often be seen on State events in London, the wider UK and aboard. In 2007 they took part in the Edinburgh Tattoo.
The Band today is established for 35 musicians and within its ranks there are many fine soloists. Most of the members of the Band play two instruments and the band has a varied repertoire from Bach through to the latest 'West End' Shows. They perform in London hotels as a Marching Display Band, Dance Band and Rock Band.
The Band has a very capable Symphonic Concert Band, which performs at several concerts throughout the year.
