Graduate and Further Education Bursary Scheme
GRADUATE BURSARY
The Corps of Army Music is able to offer a scheme for aspiring musicians who are enrolled or hope to enrol on a performance based music course and is open to University and College students alike.
The scheme offers an annual bursary of £1500.00, paid in three instalments, for a period of three years for courses which lead to a nationally recognised diploma or degree.
To apply for the scheme you will need to complete an Application Form . You would then be required to apply to your local Army Careers Information Office/Armed Forces Careers Office, expressing a desire to join the Corps of Army Music. Your Army Careers Advisor will then arrange an audition for you at Kneller Hall, Twickenham, where if you meet the exacting requirements, a place on the scheme may be offered. Your application to enlist in to the Army will now be deferred until you have completed your studies.
If during or at the end of your studies you feel that life as an Army musician is not for you and you wish to withdraw from the scheme, you will be obliged to repay any monies obtained.
Having graduated, you will need to return to your local Army Careers Information Office/Armed Forces Careers Office and restart you application to enlist, joining the Corps of Army Music through the normal channels there on in. Your commitment would then be spend a minimum of four years with the Army.
On completion of your training, you will be eligible to a 'Golden Hello' of between £2500.00 and £3500.00, depending on the level of your qualification.

FURTHER EDUCATION BURSARY
The Army Further Education Bursary is open to all applicants going on to further education whose course is performance based. A good example of an eligible course would be 'A' Level Music
The scheme offers £1000.00 for each year you spend in at college and you could be eligible for a further £1000.00 on completion of phase one training, equating to a maximum of £5000.00.
Your commitment would then be to spend a minimum of four years with the Army. If however once on the scheme you feel that life as an Army musician is not for you, you will be obliged to repay any payments made through the scheme.
You could also be eligible for a 'Golden Hello' of £2500.00, dependant on qualifications.
