REGIMENTAL HISTORY OF THE LIGHT INFANTRY

cap badge

Every Regiment is proud of its Regimental History.  The Light Infantry is certainly no exception.  From the formation of the Earl of Huntingdon’s Regiment, in 1685, through to present day operations, the Light Infantry and its antecedent Regiments have distinguished themselves in often untold honour.

This section will illustrate the glorious history of Britain’s finest Regiment.  Click on the pictures below, to discover the glory of the Light Infantry, or click here to find out more on the main battles and campaigns of the British Army, from the English Civil War to the present day.
