The Royal Regiment of Scotland

King's Own Scottish Borderers Battalion

kosb water polo 2
action 1

The King's Own Scottish Borderers Battalion are the local Infantry Battalion for the Borders, Dumfries and Galloway and Lanarkshire. We recruit from Berwick in the East to Stranraer in the West, from Gretna in the South to Baillieston in the North.

In 1689 the King's Own Scottish Borderers Battalion was raised, in one day, to defend Edinburgh from maurauding Jacobites. The passion and spirit of these men has been passed down throughout the ages as the Battalion has fought in every major conflict for the last 300 years including with distinction in the Gulf 2003.

"Once a Borderer always a Borderer".
