Access to Information

This Website aims to provide the users as much access to information, on the King's Own Scottish Borderers Battalion, as is physically possible.This is the only official Website of the KOSB Battalion. It is the Battalion's primary publication scheme, in support of the British Army’s requirement to comply with the regulations of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The Defence publication scheme can be accessed via www.foi.mod.uk In addition, the Journal of KOSB (The Borderer's Chronicle) is published annually and contains a vast amount of information on recent Regimental activities. This can be purchased from Home Headquarters KOSB.

The Website has been designed to enable a user to access a significant amount of material concerning the Battalions present day and historical activities. The navigation to the left of the page enables the user to access information specific to the King's Own Scottish Borderers Battalion, whilst the top-level navigation provides access to pages within the Army Website -

The navigation to the left of the page has been arranged into specific subject areas. Depending on the size of the subject areas, additional sub-navigation may appear, when certain pages are selected.

What if this Website does not provide you with the information you want?

Should you require additional information, on a specific subject area on the Battalion you should contact
Home Headquarters KOSB. However, requests for information of a more historical nature should be directed to the Army Personnel Centre (Details can be found on the contact page). Please note that Home HQ KOSB have a significant amount of archived information, some of which dates back to 1689. To that end, a charge might have to be raised for access to information, outside the normal working requirements of the respective offices and their staff. Access to the Battalion Archives may be arranged by prior appointment. Alternatively, visit The KOSB Museum.

How to Contact Us
Contact, details for requests for information for the KOSB Battalion are provided from Home Headquarters (HHQ) in Berwick Upon Tweed. If information is required relating to other Infantry regiments, the Infantry as a whole, or wider Army issues - requests should be forwarded to Headquarters Infantry, or the respective Directorate. Details of the Army Arms and Services Directorates, can be found within the ‘Units’ page of the top-level navigation under Corps.
