The Regimental Museums
The Regiment has two fine collections, one in Liverpool for the Regimental collection and one in Tameside, Greater Manchester for the Manchester Regiment Collection.
The Regimental Collection
The Regimental collection is currently being stored while the the new Museum of Liverpool is built. This Museum will occupy the site of the car park of the Museum of Liverpool Life on Mann Island, next to the Pier Head Liverpool. For more details of the plans of this museum, go here.
The Museum of the Manchester Regiment
The Museum of the Manchester Regiment occupies the ground floor of the Town Hall, Ashton-under-Lyne

The newly refurbished galleries of the Museum of the Manchester Regiment tell the story of the Manchester Regiment from its formation in 1758 to its amalgamation in 1958 with the King's Regiment (Liverpool) to form the modern King's Regiment. The Museum's collection is strong throughout the period, in particular in the era of the Boer War. Full use is made of interactive materials and strong theme is the provision of educational resources for parents and teachers. | |
