We are the most exciting, dynamic and forward thinking Infantry regiment of the British Army. The battalions of The Rifles are in roles that are the envy of the rest of the British Infantry - Armoured, Mechanized, Light and Commando. For these reasons we are special and the envy of the rest.
As a Rifleman of today, you can serve in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Germany. For those who want to live close to Wales, we've even got a Battalion in Chepstow! In short, if you so wish you could be based within 4 hours travelling time of your home while still serving in a Regular Battalion.
If you want variety, style and panache....there is only one Regiment in The Army that can deliver it - The Rifles.
Being 'The Best' is not good enough - not everyone can wear jackets of green and the mark of the 'elite' - the silver bugle horn.
We draw our strength from the heritage of our forming regiments. What our Riflemen do today is the history of tomorrow. That is why our Belt Badges have a blank scroll awaiting our next battle honour - to join those from Iraq 2003 back to Gibraltar 1704-05.
