Recruitment

Soldiers with mortar

Eligibility

To join The London Regiment you need to be a citizen of the UK, Commonwealth or the Republic of Ireland. If you do not hold a British Passport you need a visa with no less than two years validity remaining for leave to stay in the UK.

You need to be aged between 17 (with parental permission) and 43, although some flexibility exists on these limits - please contact us for further details.

The first step towards joining is to get in contact. Either call us, or drop in to one of our Territorial Army (TA) Centres.

Once you have introduced yourself to us we will ask you to attend the TA Centre on a Tuesday evening so that our recruiting staff can start the process of enlisting you. This involves a certain amount of administration. You will be asked to complete some documentation in the Centre, and take some away with you.

Originals (not photocopies) of the following documents are required:

  • National Insurance number
  • NHS number
  • Birth certificate
  • Passport

A medical is also required prior to acceptance, to ensure that you reach the basic requirements of the British Army.
