The Parachute Regimental Association

The Parachute Regimental Association was originally formed as an Old Comrades Association at the end of WW2  to organise functions and activities for members to continue associations formed during their service with the Regiment and Airborne Forces.

The Parachute Regimental Association is a registered charity and governed by its constitution whose charitable objects are:

  • To promote the efficiency of the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces by fostering esprit de corps and maintaining contact between past and present members thereof.
  • To relieve either generally or individually persons who are serving or who have served in The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces or the dependants of such persons who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress.
  • The commemoration and remembrance of those members of the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces who have died while on active service; and the encouragement of public recognition of the sacrifice made by such persons.

There are currently 93 Association branches nationwide including Northern Ireland who are each registered with their respective charity regulator.

The Associations membership covers all age groups and the many cap badges that make up Airborne Forces.

All of the branches are keen to recruit those who have recently left the service. If you have recently left the service and are keen to seek out your local branch, please call us on 01206 817077 or e-mail praadmin@btconnect.com. Branches welcome visits from serving airborne soldiers and are particularly keen to hear about your experiences in today's Army.

If you are thinking of leaving the Army, through its wide network of branches, The Parachute Regimental Association may be able to offer advice and contacts within your local area and point you in the right direction. Click the links on the right for information on job search, general advice, information and jobs.

Currently The Parachute Regimental Association is seeking volunteers to represent the South East and Southern Regions. Should any member feel he has the necessary qualifications and the time to represent the region please either contact your local branch or RHQ PRA on 01206 817073/7.
