We aim to treat everyone fairly and will not tolerate unlawful discrimination, including harassment and bullying. We recognise that everyone is unique and will give them the opportunity to develop their abilities fully. We expect all of our soldiers to operate as members of a close-knit community, where trust, cohesion and teamwork are decisive factors in our success on operations. We rely upon leadership at all levels, and the effective contribution of every individual to achieve this.

The nature of the Infantry role procludes a number of categories of people, specifically women and the disabled. The very nature of the work that is undertaken and the fact that all Infanteers must be adaptable to various roles at the drop of a hat mean it would be unsuitable for a person with a disability. For HM Government's stance on the issue please click here and follow the web link.

Although over 70% of roles Army roles are open to women the combat roles remain unavailable. However, any women who joins the Army will at some stage undoubtably work along side the Infantry or be attached to an Infanty battalion.
