ARMY CADETS

The Cadet organisation is a national voluntary youth movement for teenagers, sponsored by the MOD.
There are two types of Army Cadet serving in two distinct cadet movements:

The Army Cadet Force (ACF) is a focus for individuals from the wider community where the instructors
are volunteers drawn from all sectors of society.

In 39 Infantry Brigade there are over 2,800 members of the ACF, both boys and girls, who meet in local detachments.

The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) is tri-Service (Navy, Army and Air Force) and its detachments are linked
to schools and colleges where teachers are the instructors.

The ethos of the cadets is one of enjoyment, adventure, challenge and good citizenship.
