The GEMS Scheme encourages all MOD civilian and Armed Forces personnel, ex-employees, MOD contractors and their staffs to contribute constructive ideas for improving efficiency and organisation anywhere within the Department, and recognises the value of their contribution
Over the next few months, the GEMS team will be gradually rolling out a new intranet based GEMS database which will offer improved functionality over the existing "stand alone" GEMS database. It will significantly enhance and improve the way in which the scheme is managed centrally, and how it is administered across the department through its network of Local Award Groups. It will additionally offer the opportunity for all MOD personnel with intranet access, to submit suggestions electronically, and to keep track of how their submission is progressing. For those without access to the intranet, the current paper based submission process will remain.
