100 YEARS OLD AND STILL GOING STRONG

Tommy Sivell from Newcastle-upon-Tyne cut his 100th Birthday cake with a sword at The Green Howards Richmond Sunday celebrations on 21st May. Tommy joined The Green Howards in India in 1924 and served throughout the 2nd World War. As the longest serving Green Howard he took the salute at the march past of Green Howard Association ‘veterans’ after the church service in St Mary’s Church conducted by the Regimental Chaplain, Canon Richard Cooper. He also received a painted Green Howard statuette and a scroll to commemorate his long and dedicated service with the Regiment.
