Since our Regimental forerunners were established over 300 years ago, the 'Dukes' have been deployed on operations throughout the world. The 'Dukes' played their part in establishing and expanding the British Empire, protecting freedom in many parts of the world, saw service in both World Wars, the Korea War, Northern Ireland and, more recently, Peacekeeping and Civil Aid operations at home, in Europe and the Middle East.   

In the last ten years alone, 'Dukes' have served in Bosnia, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, Kuwait and, twice, in Iraq. Our great reputation has served us well throughout all of these Operations.
