The Black Watch Association
Introduction

The Object of The Black Watch Association, which is a charity registered in Scotland, is to help all those who have served in the Regiment or their dependants if they find themselves in adverse circumstances.

Every Officer and other Rank who joins The Black Watch and subscribes to the One Days Pay Scheme is automatically a member of The Association. All Officers and other Ranks who have served in any Battalion of the Regiment are eligible to become members of The Association and of Branches.

Assistance is given on the strength of a report prepared by a SSAFA Forces Help Caseworker. Any grant given is authorised by the Welfare Committee. Grants are paid to SSAFA Forces Help who administer its expenditure. There is also a Holiday Scheme for widows of Black Watch servicemen and Education Grants can be made to soldiers who have retired or about to do so, this type of grant can in some cases be made to their children. Funds to enable The Association to carry out its charitable work are obtained through our investments and Donations, preferably through the Grant Aid Scheme.

The ‘HQ' of The Association is at Balhousie Castle and there are Branches as indicated on the map below. Hover the mouse over the markers to get more details:
