Have you ever arrived at a new posting with absolutely no idea where things are and what there is to do?

Have you often wished that somebody would appear to answer all those questions that arise once the march-in is over?

How do you find the people who can help?

All these questions and many more can be easily answered with a trip to your local HIVE.  With 28 HIVEs across BFG, there's bound to be one near you.  HIVEs can also be contacted by phone, fax or e-mail.

Your HIVE can give you telephone numbers, addresses, directions, information leaflets, ferry costs, information on schools, contacts for local clubs, tax-free restrictions, bus timetables, quarantine requirements, a listening ear, a friendly face and much, much more.

The staff are trained to identify the individual or agency best able to help you if your enquiry falls outside their expertise. HIVEs also offer a confidential service where appropriate.  No question is too large or too small and the HIVE will always be able to help in some way.

Call in and see how we can help you!

 HIVE Volunteers

The HIVE really needs you!  If you have spare time on your hands and enjoy meeting people, then please call in and be a much needed Volunteer.

As part of a team, a volunteer's ideas and skills could be used in any of the following ways:

Administration / filing - mailing and updating information.

Answering the telephone - researching queries.

Artistic skills - notice boards, artwork.

Computer operation - word processing, spreadsheets.

Customer service - helping customers with enquiries.

German language - translations and sourcing local information.

The choice is yours.  Volunteers are trained and are able to attend various welfare courses run by Joint Agency Training and paid for by HIVE.

Becoming a volunteer on a casual basis might just be the confidence booster you need if you are considering returning to the workplace; or perhaps you simply want to be of service to the Garrison or use your spare time constructively in a happy and busy environment.  Whatever your reasons, you'll always make new friends.

If you would like to discuss this opportunity further then call in to your local HIVE.
