Officer Profile

Skiing in France

Capt Harry Lobban RA from Crieff, Perthshire.

I attended Morrisons' Academy before going to University in Aberdeen where I studied for a BSc(Hons) in Computing whilst playing rugby for school and university.

After completing a tour of Iraq with 40th Regiment as a Troop Commander and to the Battery Recce Officer. Currently I am conducting training for deployment to Afghanistan next year.

Time between tours has been spent conducting adventurous training; organising a two week skiing expedition, mountain biking and climbing expedition for my troop. Additionally I was posted to Scotland for six months to take command of an Army Recruiting Team.

After completing a tour of Afghanistan I intend to apply for a flying tour with the Army Air Corps before returning to the Artillery for my Forward Observation Officers' tour with 19th Regiment Royal Artillery.

The highlight of my career so far was successfully commanding soldiers in the intense and challenging environment that Iraq offered.
