Second Lieutenant John Bull

I was born in Chichester, West Sussex and attended Christ's Hospital Bluecoat School in Horsham, West Sussex from the age of 11 to 18 At the age of 16, I was awarded a 6th Form Scholarship and University Bursary with the British Army after passing Army Officer selection at Westbury.

I am currently employed as a Troop Commander of Wells Troop in 57 Battery, 32 Regiment Royal Artillery. My battery is soon to deploy to Afghanistan and my role will be to operate as an ISTAR Tactical Party Commander. This means that I will deploy with a team of soldiers providing the real time surveillance capability to fighting troops.

Away from the office I have led a scuba diving expedition to Gozo, Malta and been skiing in Les Arcs, France and Saalbach, Austria.

In the future I hope to serve with The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery.

Since I have been in the Army I have gained many qualifications including: 6th Form Scholarship, TUAV Courses (Flight Safety, Ground School, TUAV theory), and Adventure Training qualifications such as Sailing - competent crew, Scuba Advanced Open Water Diver, Skiing - Basic Alpine, Kayaking - 3 Star.

Highlights so far include commissioning from Sandhurst, and meeting my Troop for the first time. When I am in camp there is troop administration to conduct such as; interviews and reports, managerial on accommodation, vehicles and equipment, and organize extra curricula events like as a recent troop visit, and the Officers' Mess Summer Ball.
