This series of four workshops provides a straightforward and practical approach to developing the leadership skills of young people aged 11 - 16.
The workshops use an adaptable approach that is suitable for use in any setting. These workshops synthesise what we hope are the most helpful aspects of leadership into a framework that allows students to apply a set of clear ideas and see useful results.
Without getting bogged down in too much theory, students explore:
- Who and what is a leader?
- Sources of influence and personal style
- Values that underpin leadership, including integrity, courage and discipline
- Leadership skills, including empathy, counselling, consulting and decision-making
- Leadership tasks, including creating a vision, support, guidance, conflict resolution and reflection
Each workshop includes a series of short individual and group tasks that encourage reflection and development in each student’s own leadership context.
