The Regiment is now gearing up to deploy to Canada for the 2002 BATUS season. As was the case in 1999 the enemy OPFOR forces will consist of 9th/12th Royal Lancers and attached arms. Exercising on the Canadian prairie promises to provide a challenging working environment through which all the participating troops will have to push themselves to the edge of the envelope in order to prove them as battle-worthy. The Regiment has a good deal of experience in this role and will provide a worthy adversary for any battle-group taking part.

Of course it is not all work in Canada. As usual there will be ample time for adventure training and exploring the country. There are many opportunites for mountain climbing, white water rafting, scuba diving, parachuting and sky-diving. America is not too far away and it has been known for many a 9th/12th Royal Lancer to make his way down the West coast to visit Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Fransicso; an opportunity not to be missed!
